About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer (LSE), you'll be regarded as an expert in your strategic functional area, employing advanced technical knowledge to deliver innovative software solutions utilizing modern technology stacks. You'll lead large, complex projects, leveraging both onshore and offshore resources, while demonstrating exceptional organizational and leadership abilities to ensure efficient development progress with minimal oversight.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Collaborate with decision-makers, external vendors, and stakeholders to define complex business requirements.

  • Communicate complex technical information concisely, both verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and research when encountering challenges.

  • Understanding of complex Retail and Technology concepts.

  • Recognized expertise in one strategic domain with advanced knowledge in at least one additional domain.

  • Lead teams and exhibit mastery in all aspects of software development activities.

  • Assist in career development, staff mentoring, and succession planning for engineers.

  • Implement architectural vision for performance, extensibility, and availability.

  • Lead scope of work estimation, cost estimates, task planning, forecasting, scheduling, and staff requirements definitions.

  • Lead complex technology initiatives with broad impact across the company.

  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards.

  • Educate the team on technology changes relevant to their domain and its application to the business area.

  • Participate in developing standards and best practices for engineering companywide.

  • Assign tasks to both onshore and offshore team members to leverage strengths and enhance knowledge.


Must-Have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Retail POS.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Data Integrations at scale.

  • Proficiency in XML-based data exchange.

  • Knowledge of Design Patterns including Microservices, Distributed, and Offline architectures.

  • Experience with Software Configuration Management (SCM) & CI/CD pipelines.

  • Expertise in POS Image & Data Store management.

  • Development experience in C#, .NET.

  • Database experience and development in Oracle.

  • Familiarity with SQL (Good to have).

  • Use/Design of WebAPIs, Data Streaming (Kafka, ActiveMQ).
